Job description

Cape Union Mart is looking for a meticulous, detail orientated and trustworthy Information Security Officer . The successful incumbent will be accountable for ensuring appropriate controls are in place for the security of information assets. The ISO is the center of competence for security compliance related activities and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Diligently maintain Cape Union Mart Information Security Framework and underlying policies, procedures, standards and guidelines

• Develop, maintain and update the Information Security Strategy and Information Security Program

• Ensure appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards are in place to protect Cape Union Mart information assets from internal and external threats

• Conduct and complete annual reviews and audits as required engaging both internal business partners across the organization and external resources

• Increase security awareness across the Cape Union Mart Group of Companies

• Ensure that gazetted Acts like POPIA and PCI are actioned from design to implementation and beyond and reported on a monthly basis

Requirements

• A Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Sciences and or Information Security is essential

• 5+ years’ work experience in a similar security-based role is a must

• Preference will be given to candidates who has experience in a retail and cloud-based environment

• Certified CISSP, CISSLP, GIAC or other security certification at a similar level will be vital to this role

• Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Information Security risk and industry best practices

• A valid driver’s licence as the role will require travel from time to time

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
