Our Client, a National blue-chip Leader in the FMCG Food industry, is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Supply Chain Manager to be based at their Head Office in Umhlanga, KZN - (R1.1M to R1.4M pa)


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Report directly into the Commercial Director
Be responsible for leading end-to-end optimisation of Supply Chain planning and delivery in-Country
Simplifying approach and improving delivery over time.
Ensure coordination across all relevant stakeholders and collaboration across S&OP, Outbound Logistics and Warehouse.
Support delivery of product to customer on time and in-full and reduce stock-outs and associated delays.
Minimise supply chain costs and improve efficiencies ultimately contributing towards improved profitability.
Optimise stock coverage to reduce working capital requirements where possible
Achieve an integrated business planning process to ensure supply reliability & productivity at optimized cost.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Develop and rollout a customized Company Way across S&OP, Warehouse and Logistics in-Country, including standards, policies, processes, tools, technology and other enablers
Benchmark practices and processes, and identify issues and opportunities for improvement and best practice in the supply chain process, metrics and subsequent activities and guide the in-Country business strategy across S&OP and Outbound Logistics
Develop the Logistics strategy to best meet the business needs for outbound distribution of domestic and export sales
Ensure an optimised distribution footprint and development of an effective RtC model
Develop & implement the Customer Service Charter in-line with the Company strategy
Negotiate the Outsource Logistics contract ensuring it reflects best practice and fits the business mandate
Manage the performance of the Outsource provider, and review and approve monthly invoices
Manage the warehousing operations and performance metrics through standardised warehouse operations, optimised costs, improved safety and quality, and enhanced efficiencies while delivering excellent customer service
Monitor the implementation and adherence to warehouse controls, thereby ensuring safety and quality of stock
Negotiate and effectively manage warehouse facilities and rentals, transporter and MHEs contractor rates
Initiate and develop the business case for key capital projects, ensuring required outcomes are delivered on, and manage CAPEX requests and administration
Manage transporter performance against logistics contracts for domestic markets through measurement against KPIs and management of freight rates
Set and manage the Outbound Logistics budget to ensure continuous productivity improvement and elimination of waste
Drive cost saving to optimise the cost of logistics through the TCOL system, without compromising agreed customer service standards
