We have an extremely exciting Cape Town job opportunity for a mid-weight Strategist at a great, independent agency that puts service and creativity at the top of the list. We’re looking for a dynamic candidate who can show their brilliance in taking Brand Strategy through into Communications Strategy. Someone who can demonstrate how they shine with their knowledge in both the Main and Luxury Markets. The role calls for a multifaceted strategist that understands how to position a brand and its divisions for a South African market and how to communicate this positioning using the full communication spectrum – ATL, Digital, BTL, etc. You will be responsible for delivering integrated strategic communication. A core responsibility is to go beyond the brief and to deeply understand the clients’ needs from a business level and to develop robust multifaceted strategies to deliver on to solve and assist the business. We’re looking for a highly competent strategic storyteller who understands how best to leverage the marketing mix against a given set of objectives and target markets. Responsibilities
- Inspire creative people to do the best work in the world
- Create strategies that serve as a benchmark and be accountable for the strategic outputs for clients with work that is grounded in insight and purpose
- Write clear and concise briefs for our creative teams that inspire and motivate them
- To constantly monitor campaigns to ensure adherence to the strategic direction
- Due diligence towards staying on top of global innovation and trends and to share this with the team
- Support creative in selling ideas and account management in building strong and enduring client relationships
- Support client in building their marketing strategies and brand plans
- Integrated Brand & Communications planning
- Campaign strategy and tactical development
- Merge insight with higher level business strategy
- Ensure that best in class conceptual thinking leads to results and ROI
- Inspire creative thinking (in both Strategy and the Work)
- Partner creative and account teams to develop and deliver disruptive ideas at all points of customer contact
- Through understanding clients’ business identify opportunities to proactively address their business problems
- Working with Client Service leads to convert
- Be seen as a trusted advisor by clients and be able to influence strongly when required
- Collaborate with clients and provide deeper actionable insights to their business and customers
- Operate across a portfolio of clients autonomously
- Maintain high quality relationship with Key clients, Client Service leads and Creative Directors
- Application of multiple tools/models/methodologies and development of new iterations where appropriate.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Degree/Diploma – relevant industry related qualification
- 3+ - 5/6 years in an agency Strategy role
- Integrated advertising experience
- Ability to uncover and act on powerful insights
- Track record of both Brand Strategy and integrated Communication solutions
- Demonstrate active thought leadership
- A natural ability to grow great client relationships
- Able to write a thorough and engaging strategic story
- Strong presentation creation and delivery skills
- Strong strategic mind but with a passion for creativity
- The ability to write and deliver inspiring and insightful briefs
- Comprehensive in all areas of the strategic process (research, insight generation, storytelling, management, strategic direction).
- Presentation and storytelling skills (ability to convey complex models in ways that clients can understand and get excited about)
- Able to negotiate the creative process, from brief to review to execution
