Public Relations Manager

A global business in the travel and tourism business is looking for a PR professional with at least eight years PR experience.. 

You will be responsible for all relevant global communications function, all national PR and non-marketing communication for the company.

The role would also encompass Company reputation management in South Africa as well as issues and crisis management.

Job-requirements: skills, competencies, experience

• BA/MA degree in public relations, communications or a related discipline;
• Minimum of 8-10 years communications experience;
• Proven working experience in public relations management required and proven track record designing and executing public relations campaigns;
• Extensive knowledge of the South African media, with vast media contacts, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the media sector, including broadcast, online, print and social media,
• Extensive experience in acting as a company spokesperson, comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews;
• Exceptional writing and editing skills;
• Strong understanding of reputation management and crisis communication;
• Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook and Twitter etc;
• Highly-motivated, committed, proactive, self-starter, action and results oriented communications professional;
• Flexible, able to role up her/his sleeves and lead by influence, with an unshakeable can-do attitude;
• Strong relationships management and excellent, proven media relations skills.
