EXPERIENCED BUYER / PORT ELIZABETH – A Food Distribution Company in PE, seeks the analytical and negotiating skills of an experienced Buyer as an integral part of our Procurement Department. The Buyer will be responsible for analysing, negotiating and securing deals by researching products and suppliers for the best price and quality stock. Also being aware of stock holding and addressing problems with urgency.

Previous Experience as a Buyer/ Purchasing Agent – Procurement
Excellent PC Skills
Excellent verbal communication skills – English
The Suitable Candidate must have/be:
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Able to work large volumes.
Responsible and reliable.
Managed Stock Levels – Inventory Optimisation.
Price negotiations experience
Able to take Initiative
Analytical thinker with the ability to Problem Solve
Experience in sourcing quality suppliers and stock.
Identifying / sourcing of stock items.
Contact suppliers in writing or by telephone for any queries.
Follow-up with suppliers concerning deliveries / special orders.
Assist Sales Department with special stock inquiries.
Engage with suppliers / colleagues and clients in a professional manner.
Keep on top of Stock Quality – Expiries/Over Stocks
Good networking skills and ability to form strong relationships with suppliers
