We have a wonderful on-site opportunity for a conceptual, mid-weight Design Group Head who has been exposed to brand development, graphic design and art direction to join the in-house Marketing & Content team’s studio at an exciting company located near Cape Town’s CBD. We’re looking for someone to lead creative direction and manage creative and design projects across 3 different brands. You’ll also oversee junior designers ensuring high-quality work throughout all stages of work. We’re looking for an individual with leadership qualities, someone who is driven and wants to make their mark. There are lots of opportunities and growth potential within the company. Responsibilities
- Overseeing & managing all design elements, from conception to final delivery
- Leadership & guidance of the design team
- Reviewing the work of junior designers to give guidance and feedback
- Using their strong eye for aesthetics and visual details to ensure a quality final product
- Generating fresh concepts & visuals directions to make our business stand out
- Ensuring brand consistency throughout various marketing projects
- Excellent & efficient graphic design & multimedia execution skills
- Produce different style guides, presentations, and project visualisation for the creatives team
- Delegating design tasks and providing support for junior-level design team members
- Maintaining high standards of quality and making sure only the best work is released
- Collaborating across the organisation to drive up standards of digital creativity.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have/be:
- Relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised Visual Communications institution
- Minimum 5+ years previous design experience
- Strong design & creative execution capabilities
- Highly skilled in adobe design software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Experience with both print and digital designs
- Knowledge in animation or motion design software
- Ability to communicate (both oral and written) with a diverse section of people from different professional backgrounds, from engineers to developers and fellow creatives
- Conceptual thinking and storytelling abilities
- A good portfolio of past design and creative projects
- Leadership skills
- Excellent time management, and multitasking skills.
