Job description

Umuzi is looking for a mid-level Recruitment Manager to manage our recruitment process end-to-end with extensive coordination and management of senior stakeholders and decision-makers within the organisation.
Location: Remote (home-based)
Language: English 
Timeline for recruitment: Immediate 
Duration:  One-year contract, three months probation
Reporting to: Dario da Silva, Current Recruitment Lead
Overview
Umuzi works with leading employers in South Africa. Together we create opportunities to skill, reskill or upskill talented young people and place them in high-value tech and creative roles. Much of our success depends on finding talented young people and matching them to relevant opportunities with our employer partners. Umuzi is looking for a mid-level Recruitment Manager to manage our recruitment process end-to-end with extensive coordination and management of senior stakeholders and decision-makers within the organisation.
Key responsibilities/accountability 
This is a complex role that requires interfacing with many internal stakeholders.

  • “Top of funnel” recruitment activities:

    • Finding leads through digital marketing, including collaborating with Umuzi Communications team to

    • manage campaigns social media messaging as required

    • Managing recruitment-related pages on the Umuzi website

    • Maintaining an updated FAQ on the Umuzi website to minimise incoming email traffic.

    • Communicating with leads on the status of their applications

    • Managing ad-hoc social media requests in collaboration with the Umuzi communications team.

  • Bootcamp management:

    • Curating bootcamp activities as may be required

    • Managing applicants through the bootcamp application process, including following up/enquire on bootcampers that drop off, and communicating status updates

  • Managing internal stakeholders:

    • Handover of successful bootcampers to Learnership management (Liezel Vorster, Thabile Nhlapo and Nkateko Mabaso)

    • Communicating with employer partnership managers on the status of the recruitment pipeline.

  • Maintaining and improving recruitment operations:

    • Using Airtable, Integromat and Jotform to ensure a smooth recruitment funnel

    • Reporting on recruiting outcomes on a regular basis and identifying improvements if necessary

Skills and personal attributes
  • Highly organised, articulate, process-driven, personable and diplomatic. Excellent communication. Tech-literate and eager to learn new systems to drive efficiency. Specific knowledge of Airtable or a similar database system would be a strong advantage.
Qualifications and experience 
  • This is a mid-level position, requiring three+ years of experience in a similar role. Project management experience, recruitment and/or time working in the corporate education sector will be beneficial as will a working knowledge of skills development, B-BBEE and/or the SETA environment.
