Junior Marketer - Supplier Marketing

Benefits: Please refer to job advertisement
Location: Cape Town, Westlake
Job level: JuniorMid
Type: Permanent
Company: Yuppiechef

Who we are and what we’re looking for
Yuppiechef is looking for a highly organised, process-driven and creative Junior Marketer to help create and run our internal Supplier Marketing campaigns. If you are someone who has a knack for clear communication, brilliant brief writing and super workflow systems then we want to hear from you asap.
Our team started as two good friends and only 32 products in a lounge in Cape Town, and now there are nearly 200 of us who help make Yuppiechef South Africa's premier kitchen and homeware store. We're selling 8,000 curated products from 700 leading international and local brands, and we're growing faster than ever.
We see ourselves as helping people find more moments of joy in their homes, through products that make daily life more delicious, more comfortable, more innovative and more beautiful. Our omni-channel shopping experience provides world-class service to our customers both in our stores and online — wherever it suits them best. And we need you to help us reach even more of them.
What your role looks like
Yuppiechef’s Supplier Marketing model is run in a similar fashion to that of an advertising/media agency, creating impactful paid campaigns for our supplier partners, using Yuppiechef's own brand voice, look and feel, and communications channels. As the Junior Supplier Marketer your role will cover the following:

  • Building strong relationships with our suppliers, and keeping in close contact with them based on their campaign needs, making sure that all deadlines and objectives are met
  • Creating an efficient and transparent workflow system to manage suppliers’ briefs and feedback
  • Interpreting briefs for our internal design and digital media teams, with all the detail that they’ll need to effectively execute the campaign
  • Keeping all teammates up to date with suppliers’ bookings as needed
  • Working closely with the Marketing Manager to stay aligned on expectations and opportunities for each supplier
  • Efficiently managing all billing and invoices with the Finance team
  • Compiling and distributing post-campaign analyses for supplier campaigns
  • Ensuring suppliers feel confident in our ability to represent their brand and meet their goals, and using successes to drive continuous sales

Who you are
You describe yourself as someone who...
  • is able to learn quickly
  • thrives on being super-organised and up to date, and has great attention to detail
  • is structured in how you manage your time and workflow
  • communicates clearly and empathetically with teammates as well as external clients, managing expectations and building trusting relationships
  • is self-motivated and able to work both individually and as part of a team
  • can see the big picture, and hit the brand objective beyond the metrics
  • respects deadlines
  • is a natural marketer, who "gets" good versus bad communication and is comfortable explaining your vision to a designer

What experience and skills you need for the role
  • At least 2 years’ experience of client service (account executive level is acceptable) within an advertising agency or a role similar to that, co-ordinating campaign timelines with clients, working between art directors/designers and client approvals, and managing costing approvals
  • Skilled user of Excel, Airtable or a similar task management system

Environment, pay and benefits
Gear you’ll use:
  • A Macbook

Environment:
  • When you work from home, you’ll need your own stable, high-speed internet connection for this role
  • When you’re in the office, you’ll find a fully-equipped, communal kitchen where you can use the tools we sell, plus fully-stocked coffee stations where you can hone your barista skills
  • You’ll join an enthusiastic, creative and performance-driven marketing team
  • You’ll be a part of monthly company-wide calls where we celebrate achievements across all teams and chat about the future
  • Office parking available

Pay and Benefits:
  • We pay competitive, market-related salaries based on skills and experience, and profit share based on the company's performance
  • Your salary is based on a “Total Cost To Company” model and includes:
    • Medical Aid (Discovery) contributions
    • Group Life Cover
    • Retirement Annuity
    • Employee Assistance programme
    • 17 Days Paid Annual Leave increasing to 20 days with length of service
