Duties:
Responsible for developing and providing "Best in Class" products, for commercial vehicle customers globally.
Perform all product development and validation activities including: FMEA, design reviews, drawing and model creation, prototype builds, DV/PV testing, NVH verification, design for manufacturing and key supplier development.
Lead product/process improvements.
Work with manufacturing plants and suppliers to improve design for manufacturing and assembly.
Evaluate and provide disposition of engineering change requests and deviation requests.
Develop and support cost savings initiatives and supplier complexity reduction strategies.
Provide technical support to Applications Engineering during all phases of vehicle development including: pre-sourcing, validation, SOP and post SOP.
Requirements:
Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering degree, or minimum S4 or N6
Minimum of 5 years'' experience in powertrain related/manufacturing environment
Gear manufacturing experience coupled with machining experience highly advantageous
Experience in developing and completing Product Validation Plans
Experience in design and release for components and sub-systems
Excellent mechanical aptitude and analytic ability
Understanding and experience working with FMEAs, DVP&R, GD&T and design standards
