Job & Company Description:
An investment and holding conglomerate consisting of various business within the hospitality and retail sectors, seeks an experienced and innovative Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team based in Johannesburg North.
Duties include but not limited to:
Overall time management and allocation of billing and creditors departments
Planning for billing and creditors
Daily and weekly meetings for billing and creditors
Processing of daily and monthly journals , Petty cash, Loan adjustments, Depreciation, Salaries, Accruals
Monthly reconciliation of all assets and interest calculations
Analysing budget variances
Monthly management pack
VAT duties
Annual budget preparation and finalisation
Assist with audit for all entities
Forecasting
Ad hoc financial analysisAssist management with projects within the finance department
Any finance related tasks that may be required from time to time
Education:
BCom in Accounting / Finance
Skills & Experience:
Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles will be preferred
2 to 3 years' post article experience in an accounting position dealing with the full finance function
Retail or restaurant industry experience is essential
Pastel or Sage experience essential
Xero Accounting experience beneficial
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Financial acumen
Strong personality
Ability to work in a highly pressured and fast paced environment
