Job description
We seek a dynamic and proactive Senior BI Analyst/Developer to join the team. This person must be passionate about interpreting data, presenting information, and providing reporting to the business that supports and forwards business processes and decisions. The position reports into the Enterprise Application Manager (Supply Chain).Cape Union Mart is on an extensive journey to replace our legacy ERP systems and as part of that journey, we are implementing QlikSense to provide the business with world class reporting and the ability to interrogate and use our data to meet the business strategies.
This role requires strong skills in the following applications:
- QlikSense or QlikView
- nPrinting
- ETL from MS SQL and Oracle DBs into QVDs
Key Accountabilities of the Role:
- Understand the sources of data, their relationships to each other and be able to process them into useful metrics in QlikSense
- Understanding the priority on a new app
- Participate in the design and planning sessions for new dashboards and apps, or changes to existing ones
- Ability to translate business reporting requirements into data models and dashboards
- Testing and deployment of new development
- User training
Requirements
- Completed a tertiary qualification in an Information Systems or Analysis related field
- At least 5 years’ BI experience in a technology solution delivery environment is essential (Preference will be given to candidates with retail experience)
- Solid BI skills (SQL Server), Business Analysis, Planning or Data Modelling (Qlikview or QlikSense)
- Experience with MS SQL or other analytical insight software combined with a good understanding of SQL or relationship databases
- Experience in requirements, analysis, design and reporting
- Experience in other IT roles (e.g. software development) would be very advantageous
- Good presentation, facilitation, and excellent documentation skills
- Good attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to coach and mentor other team members
- Ability to work under high pressure and adapt to change
