Job description
Cape Union Mart is looking for a dynamic, outcome-driven and highly knowledgeable QA Manager to join and set up a world-class QA/QC team within our organisation.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for implementing a total Quality Management system throughout the business and ensuring high levels of customer centricity in products and processes. You will be responsible to lead a team of quality personnel to drive quality at source and throughout the product realization process.
Key duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

-        Establishing QA quality and procedures

-        Setting KPI’s and functional responsibilities for the QA team

-        Developing and coaching of your team

-        Setting the quality strategy for the business across the different chains

-        Plan and support supplier development

-        Align business quality expectations and KPI’s with internal manufacturing strategy

-        Plan and support supplier development

-        Implementation of preventative actions

-        Manage and track cost of Quality


Key Requirements:

-        Grade 12 / Matric

-        Relevant tertiary qualification in Clothing & Textile Technology/Engineering

-        Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within retail industry is essential

-        3 - 5 years proven Lab testing and evaluation experience is essential

-        Proven record of Quality Assurance Systems implementation

-        Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of Global Manufacturing standards (SABS etc)

-        Previous managerial experience will be highly advantageous

-        Candidates with technical outdoor wear experience will be given preference
