Duties and responsibilities:
Review and update current tax administration recordkeeping and procedures.
Develop, implement, and enhance automated processes.
Perform, manage, and guide the tax administration and compliance function.
Advise clients and staff on tax compliance processes, procedures and general queries related to taxation.
Perform various tax related services, including dispute resolutions, tax objections or complaints, provisional tax and tax assessments with SARS.
Maintain, manage and follow up on all SARS matters according to SARS timeframes (i.e. reviews, audits, objections, disputes, complaints)
Applications for tax clearance, good standing and related items.
Perform tax registrations including income, VAT, customs and excise, tax exemptions and obtaining tax directives.
Tax compliance will be performed for all clients including companies, trusts and individuals.
Arranging and executing SARS branch visits as needed.
Liaison with all clients and SARS, attending to all aspects relating to taxation.
Assist clients with documentation and executing required procedures.
Utilise CRM and Practice Manager to document required activities.
Pro-actively train and keep abreast of legislation and changes (complete required CPD’s as applicable).
B.Comm (Acc.) or related degree
SAIPA registered (or in the process of registering) with completed articles or other relevant designation
Eligible to register as a tax practitioner with the South African Revenue Services (SARS)
Minimum of 2 year’s relevant tax administration and compliance experience within a similar role preferably within the financial/accounting services environment.
Experience and good knowledge of applicable legislation (Income Tax, VAT, Companies Act and related) to assist the client with interpretations, all the related compliance services as well as SARS administration.
Good understanding of relevant tax administration packages as well as E-filing and SARS communications.
Strong organisational, administration and interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written skills.

Work well under pressure, both independently and in a team environment, pro-actively addressing clients’ needs.
