Job Summary:
This position exists within the Tailings: Africa Division, based in Gauteng province South Africa, aimed to provide management and operations with a cost effective and efficient purchasing service. Obtain best prices and completion of items for mechanical and electrical equipment lists, spares lists and construction BOQs.


Prepare and present monthly/weekly reports as well as identify trends and potential cost savings for the business.

Control and Budgeting:

Effective utilisation of Sage X3 system.

Comply with best-practice procurement processes as well as policies and procedures in line with business requirements.

Alignment of procurement processes and policies and procedures for compliance with statutory requirements.

Adhere to and ensure continuous improvement of all related processes, policies and procedures.

Supplier Management:

Identify best suppliers based on business requirements.

Ensure and maintain efficient and effective key supplier relationships.

Assist with the negotiations of best prices and contract/purchasing terms with key suppliers.

Resolve supplier disputes.


Ensure compliance with Fraser Alexander’s BBBEE platform.

Maintain BBBEE data base.

Identify expired accreditations.

Assist with required BBBEE reporting.

Stakeholder Management:

Manage with excellence all related business relationships.

Establish a level of influence and credibility with key stakeholders to ensure smooth group procurement services.

Comply to SLA terms.

Work and collaborate with all other areas of Financial Shared Services.


Ensure that the correct information is captured on requisitions.

Obtain quotes as per the authorisation framework.

Liaise with operations/side administrators/project teams on quotation approvals.

Issue order numbers to suppliers.

Placing of orders.


Grade 12

National Diploma – Procurement & Supply Chain Management or equivalent will be advantageous


Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Buying work environment

Experience in the Mining, Mechanical, Construction and/or logistic environment will be advantageous


Excellent interpersonal skills
